Two climbers who were distressed at Kuromatsuuchidake in Hokkaido due to a large-scale communication failure of KDDI could not call the fire department or police.

The two used LINE to request rescue and were rescued.

According to police, around 3:00 pm on the 3rd, two male climbers, 43 and 52 years old, who were climbing Kuromatsuuchidake in Shimamaki Village, Hokkaido, lost their way and were in distress.

The two had mobile phones, but one was dead and the other was unable to call the fire department or police due to a major communication failure at KDDI. That is.

However, because the call function of LINE was ready to use, I told my acquaintance information about my whereabouts such as latitude and longitude, and requested rescue.

An acquaintance who was contacted called for help from a local fire department, and a police helicopter rescued the two in distress.

The two were not injured.

Police are calling for access when climbing.
