On July 2, the 16th China Qinghai International Crossing the Yellow River Extreme Challenge was held in the Yellow River waters of Xunhua Salar Autonomous County, Haidong City, Qinghai Province, which is located in the upper reaches of the Yellow River.

211 athletes and sports enthusiasts from 20 countries and regions competed on the cusp of the Yellow River.

Crossing the Yellow River Extreme Challenge is China's first international water event held in the open waters of the third pole of the earth, where the altitude is high, the water temperature is low, the current is fast, and the oxygen is thin. The event was the first of its kind and became the first IP in the field of international extreme sports.

The waters of the Xunhua sub-station competition are 500 meters long, with a maximum water temperature of 9.8°C and a maximum flow rate of 3.20 meters per second.

This year's event adopts the "3+1" sub-station competition and carnival activities, and holds sub-station competitions in Xunhua County, Haidong City, Qinghai Province, Guide County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and Maqin County, Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. A large-scale cascade power station, Longyang Gorge, held a carnival.
