  At the age of 10, Huang Ernuo went to study in the UK and stayed abroad for about fifteen years.

  In 2018, 28-year-old Huang Ernuo entered Tsinghua University and became a graduate student at Schwarzman College.

80% of students at Schwarzman College are international students and it is a very international environment.

Before the summer vacation of the following year, Huang Ernuo took a group of international students from Tsinghua University to Hong Kong to do social practice for about a week. "At that time, we met a lot of people from the political and business circles. practice in Hong Kong.”

  After school started, when he returned to the campus, Huang Ernuo saw that the Tsinghua National Flag Honor Guard was recruiting the next team members. He was curious and wanted to sign up. "At that time, I asked the teacher if I could sign up as a student from Hong Kong, China. Then the teacher gave a very simple and clear answer, as long as you are Chinese, you can sign up." After a series of training and assessments, Huang Ernuo became the first Hong Kong member of the Tsinghua National Flag Honor Guard.

  In the spring of 2020, Huang Ernuo raised the national flag on the Tsinghua campus for the first time.

"Raise the national flag, play the national anthem, and salute!" As the national anthem was sung, Huang Ernuo's eyes were firm and he saluted the national flag.

It took Huang Ernuo half a year from signing up to join the national flag honor guard to raising the flag for the first time.

He said that he has never experienced military training. How to stand and how to walk has to be learned from scratch, walking in unison, walking straight... Repeatedly training these movements and developing them into habits, "I thought standing should be quite simple. Things, but when you follow an essential point and a rule to stand for ten or fifteen minutes, you will start to feel tired." Huang Ernuo is the only graduate student who persisted through the examination, and the only non-mainland student.

He said that he also learned a lot of little knowledge in the training process, such as the national flag cannot be landed.

  During the national flag honor guard, Huang Ernuo also went to Xinjiang with his teammates to carry out social practice of patriotic education, help local primary schools to standardize their flag-raising ceremonies, and cultivate small flag-raisers, so that children who are interested and want to become flag-raisers can have more regular training.

  In the summer of 2020, Huang Ernuo raised the national flag again at his graduation ceremony.
