The L'Equipe newspaper chain presented its back-to-school schedule on Thursday.

New competitions, new consultants but also broadcasting of the famous documentary "The last dance" which tells the last title of the American basketball player Michael Jordan, the channel has a new look after a record season. 

Barely the season over, the L'Equipe channel has already unveiled its schedule for the start of the school year and promises a plethora of new features.

As for the main highlights of the new school year, we can mention the broadcast of the Volleyball Worlds which will be held from August 26 to September 11.

Olympic champion in Tokyo in 2021, the French team is particularly expected there.

The channel will broadcast all the matches of the Blues as well as the final.

In a completely different genre, L'Equipe will offer, for the first time for free, a documentary released on Netflix "The Last Dance".

It tells the story of the 1997-98 NBA season, which ended with star Michael Jordan winning his last title with the Chicago Bulls.

The 10 hours of documentary will be divided into five evenings.

A real event according to the director of the chain, Jérôme Saporito.

"Not everyone has access to Netflix. [...] Yes, we want to broadcast the biggest events. Yes, we want to offer programs. But we also want to be relevant on documentaries", explains he in

Improve audiences already on the rise 

The channel will also welcome new faces on its antenna, announces L'Equipe.

The former BeIN Sports, Samuel Ollivier, as well as Loïc Tanzi, journalist of RMC, will join the editorial staff.

Viewers of 

L'Equipe du soir

, a debate program on sports news, broadcast in the second half of the evening, will also discover new faces with Saber Desfarges (Prime Video), Benjamin Quarez (Le Parisien) and Nicolas Georgereau ( RTL).

The channel thus hopes to do even better than last season in terms of audience.

With an average audience share of 1.51% - a record - the L'Equipe channel experienced a jump of 2% compared to the previous year.
