[Explanation] Recently, the Norbulingka Tibetan Medicine Calendar and Ancient Books Utilization Project jointly cooperated by the Tibet Autonomous Region Tibetan Hospital and the Norbulingka Management Office has been launched, and the image collection of more than 30,000 leaves has been completed.

As early as more than 10 years ago, the Literature Research Institute of the Tibetan Hospital of the Tibet Autonomous Region has carried out the collection, rescue and sorting of ancient books on Tibetan medicine, astronomy and calendar, and 100 volumes have been published so far.

In this cooperation, ancient books are also included in the publication plan.

  The ultimate purpose of scanning is actually, first of all, whether it is Tibetan medicine or astronomical calculations, it plays a very good role in inheritance and development. Anyway, some books will be published one after another.

  [Explanation] The collection of images of ancient books is mainly through photography and scanning, and the borrowing process is quite strict.

The staff of the Norbulingka Management Office will accompany you to borrow ancient books. When borrowing, the two full-time ancient book reviewers will need to unpack them on the spot and inspect them one by one, record the time of viewing, the status of completeness, etc., and then hand them over to the literature research staff to register the ancient books. Size and other related information, and capture images, all processes are completed in the Norbulingka.

Through the digitization of ancient books, the precious documents printed on Tibetan paper have been "lived" again.

The compilation and collection of ancient books on Tibetan medicine, astronomy and calendar play a positive role in the inheritance and development of Tibetan medicine. Its research and utilization are of great significance to clinical needs and scientific research and teaching.
