JR East has announced a disposition to reduce the remuneration of Vice President Yoichi Kise, who participated in the event, saying that he had been drunk excessively at an in-house social gathering and caused inconvenience to related parties such as employees being transported by emergency.

According to JR East, at a social gathering held at a Chinese restaurant in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo on the night of the 8th of last month, a total of 14 people, including Vice President Kise and employees of the Human Resources Strategy Department, participated in one of the participants. The department was drunk and vomited, and one of them was taken to the hospital.

The employee was discharged the next morning and is already in good health.

The social gathering was an all-you-can-drink for two hours, and Vice President Kise said that when he gave a toast, he said, "Cheers mean to dry the cup."

JR East said, "There was no coercion to drink alcohol," but on the 1st, it announced a disposition to reduce the vice president's remuneration by 10% for one month, saying that it caused trouble to the people concerned.

JR East commented, "We take it seriously and deeply apologize. We will continue to thoroughly educate our employees so that there is no harassment, including alcohol harassment."
