70 events are included in the Yas Island calendar of events during the period from July to February 2023, according to what was revealed by Miral and the parties cooperating with it in organizing these events, stressing that the selection of these events came according to precise criteria that do not seek to host and organize major international events only, but It aims to provide the ingredients for its success, and to establish an appropriate and qualified environment for it.

The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi and Miral also revealed the renewal of their partnership for a period of two years, which includes a fund dedicated to events, which works to support the schedule of musical and comedy events and live entertainment shows, which contributes to attracting 260,000 people to attend events on Yas Island, in addition to supporting Hotel reservations to reach 36,000 reservations, in order to support the program of events hosted by Yas Island.

The rich program, which was announced at a press conference held yesterday at Al Ittihad Arena on Yas Island, includes a wide range of activities amounting to 70 activities, most notably the return of Abu Dhabi Challenge Week, which includes UFC 281 fights, in addition to the preparatory matches for the NBA season. Professional Abu Dhabi 2022 at Al Ittihad Arena, and a musical performance by AR Rahman, the award-winning author, on October 26, in celebration of Diwali (Festival of Lights).

This month brings unique experiences for e-sports enthusiasts with the return of the awaited Yas Festival for electronic games, and the fourth season of the final of the V10 World Championship within the activities of the month of Yas Mall for electronic games.

Disney on Snow returns with the new Mickey and Friends show, from October 12-16.

International Tenor Andrea Bocelli will perform at Etihad Park on November 24.

In addition to hosting the Etihad Arena, the musical show "The Lion King", inspired by the Disney animated film, to provide attendees of the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Grand Prix with more entertainment options.

The November and December events will include the final of the World Triathlon Championships, and the final of the triathlon world tour.

During the conference, the Secretary-General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Aref Hamad Al-Awani, announced the activities that the council will organize with Miral on Yas Island for the coming period, including: The World Triathlon Championship 2022 finals from November 23-26, for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa region. The event, amid the interaction of more than 7,500 participants and the participation of the most prominent champions of triathlon at the local, regional and global levels, in addition to the finals of the Basketball Triathlon Championship during the period 9-10 next December in Yas Bay.

For his part, the Director General of Tourism at the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, Saleh Mohammed Al Jaziri, said that "cooperation across various sectors and the establishment of strategic partnerships constitute an essential pillar for consolidating Abu Dhabi's position as a preferred destination for the most prominent international events," noting the importance of the continuous development of the program full of diverse events and experiences. Which is hosted by the capital throughout the year, in order to support the realization of the ambitions to consolidate the emirate’s leadership on the tourism map, and the strategic goals of receiving 23 million visitors annually by 2030.

On the renewal of the partnership between the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi and Miral, the CEO of the company, Mohammed Abdullah Al Zaabi, said: “The announcement of our program of events is evidence of our vision to enhance the position of Yas Island as a global destination for entertainment and recreation.

For fans of electronic games, the Yas Electronic Games Festival, which is the largest event of its kind in Abu Dhabi, returns from 7 to 17 July.
