The rainy season front will go up to North Korea on the weekend, and it will come down again early next week, pouring rain all over the country, starting with the southern regions.

Water fills the trail and swallows up bridges and street trees in no time.



Today, it rained 292 mm in Paju, Gyeonggi-do, 291 mm in Seosan, Chungnam, 319 mm in Suwon, and 207 mm in Seoul.



Now, the North Pacific high pressure pushing up the rainy season front has expanded to the southern regions of Korea.



Therefore, it will continue to rain mainly in the metropolitan area and Gangwon-do.



By tomorrow afternoon, it will rain up to 120mm more in Seoul and northern Gyeonggi, and 30~80mm more rain in northern Gangwon.



Chungcheong and southern regions have escaped the influence of the rainy season, but the atmosphere is unstable, so 5-40mm of rain may come.



The rainy season front will go up to North Pyongan Province in North Korea over the weekend, but it will come down to Korea around Monday next week.



As the rainy season front moves south, it will rain from the southern regions and Chungcheong Province early next week, and it is expected to affect the whole country including the metropolitan area again in the middle of next week.



Next week too, the monsoon front may develop strongly as the tropical vortex supplies a lot of water vapor to the Korean Peninsula.



The 3rd typhoon 'Chaba' will land in China and disappear, but the steam left by the typhoon can pass over to Korea in the second half of next week and activate the rainy season front.



It is highly likely that the rainy season front will become stronger, but thorough preparation is necessary as the ground has already been weakened by a lot of rain.
