A few days before the start of the summer season, Saint-Malo will be in the spotlight.

From Thursday and until the end of the week, Netflix will set up its cameras in the corsair city for the purposes of filming a mini-series.

This is the adaptation of Anthony Doerr's novel All the light we cannot

see

in the original version), crowned with the Pulitzer Prize in 2015.

The novel, whose action takes place largely in Saint-Malo, tells the story of a German orphan who joins the Hitler Youth and goes to fight with the Wehrmacht in France in 1944 when the Breton town is burned and pounded by bombs.

On the spot, he will tie a love story with a young blind French woman who has taken refuge in Saint-Malo with her father.

The director of Stranger Things behind the camera

The cast of this dramatic mini-series in four episodes, we will find Hugh Laurie, known for his role in

Doctor House

, as well as Mark Ruffalo who interprets the role of Hulk in the films of the

Avengers

saga .

The two main roles of the series will be played by young actors Aria Mia Loberti and Louis Hofmann.

There will also be heavy behind the camera with director Swan Levy, who directed some episodes of the hit series

Stranger Things

.

During the summer, other scenes from the mini-series will be shot in Villefranche-sur-Rouergue in Aveyron.
