His favorite quote:

Each token of love he perceives between them drives a dagger a little deeper into his heart.

Why this book?

  • Because this novel is one of the first two

in the new Nami collection from Leduc/Albin Michel editions.

It's a French novel which, in addition to talking about personal development, also talks about the intimacy that everyone has: their joys, their sorrows but also their life choices.

  • Because I loved the construction of this novel.

I liked going through the mind of Alice, the heroine, but also of Julien, her husband.

"This little voice in my head" talks about the couple, their evolution and the hardships they have to face.

I could not put it down and read it in one go with immense pleasure over the pages.

  • Because the themes evoked mean a lot to me:

I am one of those who think that there is necessarily a person, a soul mate, for each of us, like Alice and Julien.

But also because the slightly mystical side of the novel speaks to me in particular.

  • Because I loved the pen of the author.

It's soft and light as the characters sometimes experience difficult times and questionings that sweep away their certainties.

Once the book was finished, I really had the feeling of having evolved like Alice and Julien.

The essentials in 2 minutes

The plot.

Alice has a perfect life: a loving husband and two little girls.

Until the day when a prediction received by Julien ("You are going to change women") calls everything into question and rocks his world.

What if it was an opportunity to (re) discover yourself?

Characters.

We are in a rather restricted circle with Alice, her husband Julien and their daughters.

But we also have David, Tina, Sarah or even Jeff, friends and colleagues, who gravitate around them.

Places.

The novel takes place mainly at Alice and Julien's house but also at Alice's workplace and also at the theater.

The time.

The novel takes place in our time.

The author.

Valérie Roumanoff is a hypnotherapist and trainer in hypnosis.

She receives adults as well as children in Paris, Chartres and around the world in video.

She is the author of numerous personal development books.

This book was read with

pleasure and many discoveries.

I loved Valérie Roumanoff's pen and her way full of sweetness and sensitivity which leads the characters but also the reader to experience strong and intense emotions to end up finding themselves.

A timeless moment in search of oneself!
