The revenues of the movie "Top Gun: Maverick" exceeded more than one billion dollars, according to the American film production company, Paramount Pictures, the producer of the film, to become the highest-grossing movie in the history of American actor Tom Cruise, and the highest-grossing in the history of American cinema since 2014.

The film has grossed more than $520 million in North America and $486 million overseas, according to Paramount, becoming the most successful for the Paramount Global subsidiary since "Transformers: Age of Extinction," which premiered in 2014.

The film, co-produced and financed by Skydance Media, was the only one whose revenue exceeded expectations last weekend, according to Bloomberg Intelligence, which expects US consumer spending to slow due to high inflation.

Total movie ticket sales in the United States since the beginning of this year until last Sunday amounted to 3.6 billion dollars, twice the value of sales during the same period last year.

Revenue is still a third lower than revenue for the same period in 2019 before the start of the novel coronavirus pandemic in early 2020.
