The prices of the canteen and the leisure center of Saint-Germain-sur-Morin (Seine-et-Marne) must increase by 190% on September 1st.

As

Le Parisien

reported on Monday, a collective has been created and launched a petition.

According to this group, this increase would represent nearly 100 euros more per month and per child.

And during school holidays, the bill could rise to almost 50 euros per day and per child.

The town hall has done its accounts

The mayor of the commune, Gérard Gourovitch, proposed to reintroduce price bands and to reinstate the decreasing price from the second child.

But he will not go back on this increase.

In the current financial context and in the face of soaring inflation, the town hall has done its accounts.

The canteen and the leisure centers cost him almost a million euros and the parents only pay 400,000.

With operating costs soaring, the municipality regretted that it had no other choice.
