This lipid is essential to the body, maintains the structure of the membranes of the cells of our body and plays a role in the synthesis of certain hormones.

And yet, cholesterol can be good or bad.

Excess cholesterol is detrimental to health and can lead in the long term to myocardial infarction, stroke or arteritis of the lower limbs.

In France, cholesterol is the cause of one out of two heart attacks and nearly 20% of the adult population has hypercholesterolemia.
