The "joke" will have had catastrophic consequences for Jason Alexander.

The ex of Britney Spears, arrested at the beginning of the month for having wanted to become embedded in the wedding of the popstar, will have to wait in prison for his trial.

This was decided by the judge in charge of the case during the preliminary hearing, which took place on Monday.

According to Page Six, the lawyers of the man who remained married to the singer 55 hours tried to convince that he represented no danger to the star when he entered her home on the day of her marriage to Sam Asghari.

They asked for a reduction in the amount of bail and a release, but the judge did not hear it that way.

Failing to be able to pay 100,000 dollars, he will remain behind bars.

No pity

Jason Alexander could have been accused only of harassment in this case, but justice chose to take into account the serious background of Britney Spears' ex.

He was notably convicted of domestic violence in 2015 in San Francisco.

In any case, he pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him, which include criminal harassment (aggravated by the fact that he was on parole), and three misdemeanors including trespassing, vandalism and assault.

If Britney Spears did not react publicly to the legal adventures of her ex, her lawyer, Matthew Rosengart, for his part affirmed that he “works closely with law enforcement to ensure that Mr. Alexander is aggressively pursued to the fullest extent of the law.
