Six months in prison for an Egyptian academic who killed 60 mice in retaliation for his colleague

In a strange incident, also out of revenge, an Egyptian misdemeanor court issued a ruling punishing a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine with 6 months imprisonment and a fine of 50 pounds, for killing 60 lab mice in retaliation for his colleague for blocking her master's thesis.

South Valley University also decided to suspend the teaching assistant due to the incident.

The security services in Qena governorate had received a report from Hajar M. against the lecturer accusing him of placing a poisonous substance on 60 experimental mice, in order to spoil their research experiments.
