Hot weather will continue in many places

Recently, many places in the north have been subjected to high temperature "baking" tests. The highest temperature in many places can reach about 40 ℃, and the degree of heat is rare in the same period.

It is June, is such a ferocious high temperature weather abnormal?

How will the hot weather develop in the future?

How to be protected?

The reporter interviewed relevant meteorological experts.

It is understood that since June 13, my country has experienced the first round of regional high temperature process this year, which lasts for a long time, has a wide range of influence, and has high local intensity.

According to the monitoring of the meteorological department, the number of high temperature days above 35 ℃ in many places in Henan, Hebei, Shandong, and Shaanxi Guanzhong exceeded 6 days.

842 weather stations exceeded 35°C, of which 520 weather stations exceeded 37°C, and 104 weather stations exceeded 40°C, breaking the historical extreme value for the same period in many places. The temperature in Linzhou, Henan reached a maximum of 42°C on June 20, breaking the annual extreme value. record.

  Why is it so hot?

Yuan Yuan, the chief on-duty of the National Climate Center during the flood season, explained that on the one hand, the reason for the continuous high temperature weather is the poor water vapor conditions in the north. Since June, the water vapor conditions in the lower troposphere in the Huanghuai region have been deviated. The precipitation is relatively low and the relative humidity is low; on the other hand, after June 15, the Huanghuai area was controlled by a high-pressure ridge, and the northwest sinking airflow prevailed at high altitudes, resulting in a significant warming effect. , so the high temperature weather began to develop and strengthen.

"Compared with previous years, this year's regional high temperature weather actually occurred relatively late. Because the cold air was relatively active in the early stage, from May to early June, the north was relatively cool." Yuan Yuan said.

In fact, the real large-scale high-temperature weather has not yet officially started in terms of climate normality. For example, the high-temperature and drought-prone weather in the south of the Yangtze River usually arrives in July.

"The high temperature in the north will gradually weaken for a period of time in the future. After the subtropical high rises northward, it will mainly control the areas of Jiangnan and central and eastern South China. The high temperature in the south will develop again, and there may be high temperature weather that lasts for a long time." Yuan Yuan predicts that during the midsummer period from July to August, the southern regions of my country, mainly the central and eastern Jiangnan and central and eastern South China, may have a long-term high-temperature weather process, which requires continuous attention.

On June 23, the rain belt that had been entrenched in the south for many days finally lifted to the north, and Sichuan, Huanghuai, Jianghuai, and Northeast China "relayed" to become the center of heavy rainfall.

"From June 22nd, the warm ridge that has long controlled the northern region of my country began to disappear, and the mid-level air flow is flat and has shallow troughs, which is conducive to carrying weak cold air in, so that the high temperature in Huanghuai, North China can be alleviated to a certain extent." The national chief forecaster Fang Chong, a senior engineer at the research level of the Central Meteorological Observatory, said that the rainfall process from June 22 to 24 had a certain effect on alleviating the meteorological drought in the north.

However, due to the influence of the subtropical high extending westward to the north, the continuous rainfall in the southern region will come to an end from the 23rd, and Jiangnan, South China and other places will also usher in high temperatures above 35°C, and the high temperature range across the country will be further expanded.

In the next few days, the distribution of high temperature in my country will show a pattern of "one after another".

On the one hand, the sultry heat in Jiangnan, South China and other places that bid farewell to the rain will intensify; on the other hand, as the rainfall in the North China Plain and other places decreases, the heat will escalate again.

Experts suggest that in high temperature weather, the public should try to avoid outdoor activities during high temperature periods, and those working outdoors should shorten the continuous working time.

At the same time, as the utilization rate of air conditioners has risen sharply, and the temperature difference between indoor and outdoor is large, it is necessary to pay attention to the impact of sudden temperature changes on physical health.

Fang Chong reminded that areas with severe drought should irrigate and allocate water sources in time to ensure that summer crops such as summer corn and summer soybeans are sown in time in dry farming areas and the first season of rice is transplanted. Field workers should pay attention to taking measures to prevent heatstroke and cool down.

At the same time, the demand for cooling in hot weather will also lead to a surge in electricity consumption. Relevant departments and units should prepare countermeasures in advance, paying special attention to preventing fires caused by excessive electricity consumption and excessive electrical loads such as wires and transformers.
