I'm very happy to be here

," said Wahbi Khazri on the Montpellier club website.

It's a new challenge, I think I needed it and now I hope to help the club grow, achieve its goals and give the best of myself

 ”.

At the end of a season with Saint-Etienne, marked by the relegation of the Greens to Ligue 2, the Tunisian will quickly bounce back with his signing in Montpellier which allows him to stay in the French elite.

I hope to have fun, to provide it to people who love this club and that we will live a great adventure together

”, loose the Eagle of Carthage.

Laurent Nicollin: "

It was a priority"

The ex-Stéphanois, 31 years old and native of Ajaccio, has a rich experience in L1, which he discovered in Bastia, his training club, before playing in Bordeaux (2014-16), then in Rennes ( 2017-18) and Saint-Etienne (2018-22).

The captain of Tunisia (69 caps) scored ten goals last season at Saint-Etienne, relegated to Ligue 2, and will be the fourth recruit from Hérault.

Montpellier, which has already parted ways with six players, has signed four with Khazri: Stéphanois attacking midfielder Arnaud Nordin, left-back Faitout Maouassa, on loan from Bruges, and Nîmes Théo Sainte-Luce, also left-back.

“

I am very happy with the signing of Wahbi Khazri at MHSC

.

, Laurent Nicollin.
