The lawsuit between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp may not be quite over.

The lawyer for the actress of

Aquaman

has indeed officially announced her intention to appeal the decision of the jury, which found that she was guilty of defamation against her ex-husband.

Elaine Bredehoft asked Judge Penney Azcarate to file an appeal.

And the judge replied that she had the possibility… on one condition.

Amber Heard's camp must indeed pay a deposit of 8.35 million dollars before being able to appeal, with interest of 6% per year.

This amount corresponds to that to which she was sentenced, less the 2 million dollars that must be paid to her by Johnny Depp, also found guilty of defamation, to a lesser degree.

“We only ask to be exonerated if we are innocent.

And, you do not refuse to appeal if you know you are right, “said the lawyer in court during a hearing to endorse the jury’s decision, at the end of last week, and relayed by Deadline.

Where to find the money?

Amber Heard's defense team has 21 days from the date of this hearing, which was held last Friday, to file its appeal.

It now remains to be seen how she will raise this sum in such a short time.

Her lawyer had herself admitted that the actress did not have enough to pay what she owed to Johnny Depp at the end of the trial.

Anyway, this is not the only legal obstacle that awaits Johnny Depp in the months to come, since he must, next month, find himself in court in Los Angeles to answer the charges of Greg Brooks , stage manager on the film

City of Lies

.

The latter claims to have been struck by the star one evening of filming, in April 2017.
