On June 25, the ancient city of Zhangzhou, Fujian held the "Fu" Cultural Polder Day event, attracting many people to check in the intangible cultural heritage projects.

During the event, Zhang Mintai, the inheritor of Hakka earth building construction techniques, interactively performed earth building construction techniques to the public, attracting the public to watch and experience.

According to Zhang Mintai, the main building materials of the tulou must be fine and pure red soil without impurities, and then mixed with fine river sand, silt from the bottom of paddy fields and old wall mud in a certain proportion.

After all materials are fully mixed, add water and use a hoe to turn over and ferment repeatedly.

This process is very important to the construction of the tulou, and the sufficient fermentation of the mixed mud directly affects the service life of the tulou after it is built.

Now that there are no more tulou built, how to inherit the tulou construction skills?

Zhang Mintai disclosed that Nanjing County provides explanations and experiences through the experience base, which is convenient for students and tourists to understand how the earth buildings are built.
