On the 24th, an NHK helicopter camera took a picture of the oysters spawning all at once and the sea becoming cloudy on a farmed oyster that floats in Etajima Bay, Hiroshima Prefecture.

The white turbidity of the sea is a phenomenon that can only be seen at this time several times a year.

In addition to the rise in seawater temperature, when the oysters are stimulated by the movement of waves, the flock releases eggs and sperms all at once to lay eggs.

On the morning of June 24, oysters cultivated in Etajima Bay, Hiroshima Prefecture spawned all at once, and the area around the cultivated raft from a helicopter in the sky was whitish and cloudy with the color of sperm released by the oysters as they spawned. It was confirmed.

After this, a baby Pacific oyster is born from the fertilized egg and floats in the sea for about two weeks, and when it grows to about 0.3 mm, it adheres to hard objects such as rocks and becomes a juvenile.

Scallop shells are prepared on the raft, and the shells are placed in the sea to attach the baby oysters.

The Hiroshima Prefectural Fisheries and Marine Technology Center said, "The spawning may have started because the wind strengthened from the afternoon of the 23rd and the squid shook and stimulated the oysters."
