  The WeChat public account "Henan Satellite TV" announced on June 24 that Zhang Meizhen, a famous Henan Opera performing artist, a representative inheritor of Henan Opera, a national intangible cultural heritage, and a direct disciple of the Yan (Lipin) School of Henan Opera, died of heart failure on June 2, 2022. He died of illness at 4:00 a.m. on March 24, at the age of 80.

  Zhang Meizhen was born in Luohe, Henan Province in July 1941. She joined the Luohe Henan Opera Troupe in 1956, and was transferred to the Second Henan Henan Opera Troupe in 1978. After that, she officially worshipped Mr. Yan Lipin, the art founder of the Yan (Lipin) School of Henan Opera as a teacher, and was selected as the second in 2008. Approved as representative inheritors of national intangible cultural heritage projects.

  Zhang Meizhen is mainly in the role of boudoir, and has starred in many plays such as "Qin Xuemei", "Butterfly Cup", "The West Chamber", "Panfusuofu" and "Drinking Noodles".
