La Traque du Loup de Wall Street

by Jordan Belfort, published on March 10, 2022 by Éditions Cherche Midi.

His favorite quote:

In other words, Nick continued, he's been stalking you for so long that he can only see you as "the crook you were", for lack of a better term, rather than "the righteous citizen you've become. ", which is the correct title.

Why this book?

  • Because we are very curious to know what has become of the stock market crook

    of the century;

the fascinating and abject Jordan Belfort.

Building on the success of his first book

    Le loup de Wall Street

adapted for the cinema by Scoresse, Jordan Belfort is renewing the performance.

The gift of telling stories like that of the scam runs through his veins.

It even introduces you to insider trading.

The verb is catch, you will even laugh very often while imagining the scenes.

If Belfort is in search of redemption, we feel that the crook never sleeps in him.

  • Because his character, however despicable, will fascinate even

    the most honest of citizens.

The story hypnotizes you, the language used in the novel is very coarse and can sometimes be disturbing (to be reserved for an informed public).

Belfort appears to us there a little more human or in any case that resembles a little more ordinary mortals especially when he broaches the subject of his "friendships" and his children.

He didn't only make good and intelligent decisions, he knows it, he recognizes it, his own way of doing his mea culpa while continuing to get rich!

The essentials in 2 minutes

The plot.

Jordan Belfort recounts the "after" of his arrest.

From prison to redemption, there are a few letters and above all a long road.

His collaboration with the FBI, his past made of drugs, sex and money, but also his friends and his children in particular.

Characters.

Jordan Belfort himself, Joel Cohen, the assistant district attorney, Gregory J. O'Connell, his lawyer said said Magnum for his striking resemblance, Mike Valenoti his first mentor in a way, Dave Beall his friend with his wife Laurie.

Places.

In the United States: Atlanta city, New York, Long Island.

The time.

From the arrest of the author, late 1990s, until the early 2000s.

The author.

Jordan Belfort, born in 1962, is a former American broker who has become a speaker and motivator.

At 26, he founded a brokerage firm, Stratton Oakmont, with Kenny Greene.

He spent 22 months in prison for embezzlement and where he began writing.

This book was read with

curiosity and delight.

Even if the character still seems so detestable to me, his journey captivates.

A novel to be taken in an audible version for better immersion.
