The truth of the picture of Muhammad Ramadan with the killer of the Mansoura student

In the midst of anger and resentment on social media, following the stabbing murder of Egyptian student Naira Ashraf in front of her university in Mansoura, a picture of the Egyptian actor, Mohamed Ramadan, was spread with a young man who was said to be the perpetrator.

The text accompanying the photo read, "A picture of the killer with Muhammad Ramadan! Is the killer supposed to stand trial alone?"

The photo's publishers protested that the films presented by the famous Egyptian actor promoted violence, murder and "bullying", and that they "should be prosecuted for exporting bad models of society."

This post received hundreds of posts on several pages, days after the spread of a video clip of a young man stabbing a girl in the street before being caught by passers-by.

But the truth is that the one who appears in the picture is another person who lives in the United States, and has nothing to do with the painful event that shook the Egyptian and Arab streets a few days ago.

It is noteworthy that the photo is old and dates back several months, as Ramadan posted it on his official account on Facebook on January 4, 2022, indicating that it was taken in California, in the United States.

In one of the comments, a user mentioned that the photo belonged to a young man named Kevin Joseph.

By searching his account on Facebook, it can be seen that the facial features match.

Kevin Joseph indicates on his account that he lives in California, which corresponds to the location of the photo taken by Ramadan.

In addition, the same image that Ramadan carries, published on the young man’s account in 2013, can be found.

And last Monday, Dakahlia Governorate, north of Cairo, witnessed a heinous murder, where a student at the Faculty of Arts at Mansoura University slaughtered his colleague in the street and in front of pedestrians.

for refusing to associate with him.

This crime aroused Arab public opinion, especially as it was followed up by another crime in a private Jordanian university that claimed the victim of another young woman in the prime of life.
