  • Interview Pepón Nieto: "What people like the most is being able to become a police officer for a day"

The actor

Pepón Nieto

has denounced through his social networks that TVE had decided not to broadcast a special program of 'Cine de Barrio' recorded on the occasion of the celebration of

LGTBI + Pride

.

Specifically, this Saturday, July 25, the program was going to screen the movie 'Excuse me, beautiful, but Lucas loved me', from 1997, in which the actor had a leading role, but they told him that they had decided to cancel it, a decision of which they now seem to retract.

"A couple of weeks ago I recorded a special program for 'Cine de Barrio' on the occasion of pride week," says the actor in a Twitter thread in which he explains that a couple of days ago he received a call from the program informing him that finally it was not going to be broadcast.

As he explains, this decision is due, according to TVE's explanations, to "orders from directors of the network to suspend the broadcast."

"I was assured that someone from the network would call me to explain the reason for the cancellation of the program, but no one contacted me in the last two days," he adds.

However, the actor has revealed that when he told them that he was going to publish

a text on Twitter explaining what happened

, a TVE directive called him to tell him that they would broadcast the film on August 6 because "it did not seem appropriate for this time slot" .

However, when the actor asked him if the time slot was going to change between now and August 6, he said no.

"The film is 25 years old, I have already said it, and is rated by the ministry for people over 13 years of age and I know that Cine de Barrio can broadcast films for people over 16 years of age, so I understand that this is not the problem", points out.

Moreover, the actor insists that during these years

the chain has broadcast the film three times

.

"The program was a pride special, there were rainbow flags decorating the set and even Alaska had one on her dress. I suspect that the problem comes from there, I don't know. I don't know who is ultimately responsible for this decision. What I do What I know is that at this point a film that was already programmed and a program already recorded is vetoed," he says.

In addition, Nieto emphasizes that he attended the recording of the program for "free" and that it is "a shame that we still have so many dead in the closets and that no one from our public television dares to dust them off, take them out and bury them. one hell of a time."

TVE rectifies

After making this public complaint last night on his Twitter account, the actor has announced this morning that TVE has called him again and they assure him that the recorded program and the film will finally be broadcast on 'Cine de Barrio'.
