[Explanation] A 5G motion-controlled bionic robot that can simultaneously imitate human actions, a 5G remote robot capable of remote consultation... On the eve of the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, the reporter walked into the Hong Kong Cyberport.

This robotics-focused tech company is one of more than 1,650 start-ups and tech companies gathered here.

Co-founder Mai Qianyu introduced that Cyberport provides entrepreneurs with abundant resources and favorable rents and other favorable conditions for starting a business.

At the same time, it also provides a platform for interconnection with the mainland.

Together with the China Mobile Research Institute in Beijing and the ZTE Laboratory in Shenzhen, we jointly developed the first 5G bionic robot in China.

We have made a lot of robots for different medical levels, and we made one that feels like the first robot in the world that can be used in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Through the "Belt and Road", we have been to different countries, including Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia, the farthest to Europe.

This can demonstrate the technology of our basic research and development in Hong Kong, and it can also demonstrate the strength of our country.

[Explanation] Hong Kong Science Park, another large-scale scientific research base in Shatin, Hong Kong, has more than 1,100 innovative technology companies.

If you come here at noon, you will see many young people here.

17,000 people work here, and among the 17,000 people, 11,000 are R&D personnel. This is the concentration of R&D personnel.

We have an incubator here, a start-up incubation program, that is, if college students have this idea and want to start a business, we will give you 3 to 4 years to follow us to turn your scientific research into reality.

In addition to technology, the most important thing is the investment of investors.

In the past four years, there have been more than 200 investment projects in the Science Park, which have helped the park companies to raise 68 billion Hong Kong dollars in venture capital funds in the past four years.

[Explanation] The growth of Hong Kong's innovation and technology market is not accidental.

In the past five years, the Hong Kong SAR government has invested an unprecedented HK$150 billion, spared no effort to promote the development of innovation and technology, and drove the innovation and technology boom in Hong Kong.

[Concurrent] Xue Yongheng, Director of the Innovation and Technology Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government

There are four traditional industries in Hong Kong that are doing very well. Finance, trade, logistics and tourism are also doing very well.

But in the future, we will promote the economic development of our Hong Kong, so that our young people have better employment opportunities.

I&T is 100% the future of our Hong Kong.

In 2014, there were only more than 1,000 I&T companies in Hong Kong, and now it has grown several times.

Venture capital funds increased to 41.7 billion (HK$) in the previous year, an increase of dozens of times.

Generally speaking, Hong Kong's scientific research strength is very strong.

But to make scientific research strength an economic driving force, it is also an opportunity for our young people to have a good employment opportunity and commercialize scientific research results.

Therefore, in the middle of this process, it is also the direction we are striving to develop in Hong Kong now.

[Explanation] It is clearly stated in the "14th Five-Year Plan" outline to support Hong Kong in building an international innovation and technology center.

How can Hong Kong seize new opportunities in innovation and technology?

Xue Yongheng said that it is necessary to actively integrate into the development of the Greater Bay Area, complement each other's advantages and join forces.

We must turn the results of our basic scientific research into commodities. In this process, we must have application customers, and we must have the support of many high-end production capabilities to do this.

So why do I say that the Greater Bay Area is our best platform.

It is best to promote our innovation and technology to use the method of complementary advantages and strong alliances, make good use of Hong Kong's basic scientific research director, and our mainland Greater Bay Area cities, in the application of customers, high-end production capacity and other advantages to complement each other, let us develop together.
