In April, 14 people were killed in the accident where the tour boat "KAZU 1" sank off the coast of the Shiretoko Peninsula, and the whereabouts of 12 people are still unknown.

After the accident, the bodies of two men and women were found on Kunashir Island in the northern territories, and Russian authorities were proceeding with DNA analysis, but the diplomatic route said that it matched the missing DNA data of passengers and crew. I learned from interviews with the people concerned that I was contacted by the Japanese side.

The agreement was that it was the DNA material of a male deck member and a female Hokkaido.

In the future, it is expected that the timing and method of delivery of the corpse will be adjusted, and after the delivery, the Japanese side will also conduct a DNA test to identify the corpse.
