[Explanation] In advanced containers filled with gas, rough diamonds are slowly growing. After weeks or even months of cultivation, man-made diamonds are about to be born.

In the growth workshop of Hefei Advanced Crystal Technology Company, "diamond gardeners" are checking the "growth" of diamonds.

[Explanation] According to Song Xuerui, general manager of the company, its scientific research team originated from the School of Physics, University of Science and Technology of China.

As early as 1988, the team began research on cultivating diamonds.

After 30 years of technical accumulation and tackling key problems, he has finally mastered the entire process of cultivating diamonds and moved from the laboratory to the market.

To put it simply, diamond cultivation is similar to growing crops. It needs seeds and raw materials. The seeds are our seed crystals, which are very thin pieces of seed crystals.

The raw material is the very pure methane gas we use. When growing, we polish both sides of the seed crystal and put it into our cavity, and then inject very high-energy microwaves.

This microwave ionizes the methane into plasma, the carbon in the methane is precipitated, and then it gradually deposits on our seed crystal like snow, the seed crystal gradually crystallizes, becomes thicker and thicker, and finally grows into our diamond blank.

Diamond rough cutting and polishing can be used in different fields, some can be used in the field of jewelry, and some can be used in the field of industry and scientific research.

[Explanation] It is understood that these laboratory-grown diamonds are no different from natural diamonds in nature, and can grow up to 10 carats of diamonds, with higher purity and cheaper prices.

From a jewelry point of view, it is no different from a natural diamond, its chemical and physical properties are exactly the same, and it is also very sparkling.

In addition, its price is relatively low. At present, it reaches our consumer terminal, which is about one-fifth of the price.

[Explanation] It is understood that the application of cultivated diamonds in industry and scientific research is more important.

Diamond is superior in hardness and thermal conductivity, and it can be used in semiconductors, tools, thermal management of electronic devices, optical windows, quantum information and other fields.

From the perspective of industry and scientific research, because it is more pure, we do arbitrary doping, and then it can be used in different fields of industry and scientific research.

This is difficult to achieve in natural diamonds, because its purity does not meet certain requirements, so our cultivated diamonds are more imaginative in the fields of industry and scientific research.

[Explanation] At present, the scientific research team has mastered the mass production technology from tool-level to gem-level cultivated diamonds. The technology and craftsmanship are at the international leading level, and the products are exported to the United States, India and other countries and regions.
