Egypt.. Urgent action towards the videos of the slaughter of the Mansoura student

The Supreme Council for Media Regulation in Egypt stressed the need to stop broadcasting videos that deal with murder, violence and bloodshed, especially what is being circulated about the "Naira" incident, the girl of Mansoura.

The Council affirmed that it will notify the Attorney General against the legal and humanitarian violations in this field.

The head of the council confirmed that it was agreed with the head of the National Press Authority, Engineer Abdul-Sadiq Al-Shorbagy, on a single action plan, and an urgent meeting was held with the editors-in-chief of newspapers and websites to agree on a unified media strategy to deal with these issues.

In a statement, the council added that Facebook will be immediately addressed to delete these videos, out of respect for the human feelings of the victims' families, and to preserve the sanctity of life and meanings that respect laws, morals and conscience.

The Council called on all media outlets to adopt intensive campaigns to spread awareness among citizens and urge them to be a line of defense for human values and to stay away from excitement and incitement, and for news sites that broadcast these videos to immediately delete them.
