"I didn't expect that there are so many cultural exhibits from the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China in an exhibition hall in a village. After the opening of the museum, I will often bring my children here to get to know the old objects of that era." Ms. Zhao Hongying told reporters, "I feel that the cultural atmosphere in Lvguantun Village is very strong."

Lvguantun Village is located at the southernmost end of Chenguantun Town, Jinghai District, Tianjin, covering an area of about 4 square kilometers and a population of more than 1,800.

On the east bank of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, it has a long history and a prosperous culture.

In a small farmyard in Lvguantun Village, the farmhouse is no more than 100 square meters, but it condenses eight life scenes such as the marriage room, the main room, the kitchen, the study, the upper room, the tea house, the tofu workshop, and the stables of the farming households in the late Qing Dynasty. From the farming and reading life of Luguantun people in the past dynasties, this is the "Gongdu Home" of the Folk Customs Exhibition Hall in the late Qing Dynasty.

In 2019, the "Home of Farming and Reading" was restored and built by village history expert Hu Yi and his team, the editor-in-chief of "Lvguantun Village History". The outer wall reflects the life of the canal, and the inner courtyard displays themed scenes.

Talking about the original intention of establishing the "Home of Farming and Reading", Hu Yi said: "After completing the editing work of "Lvguantun Village History" in 2015, I was thinking about how to make some of the history visible and visible, so that the villagers can Having a more intuitive feeling is conducive to gaining cultural confidence.”

For Lv Guantun, the source of rural culture lies in the inheritance of farming and reading, that is, "going to the fields to work in the fields when farming is busy, reading and studying when farming is slack, farming for a living, and learning for development".

The theme of farming and reading presents the warm atmosphere of farm fireworks and the persistence of the villagers to "build a family by hard work and study hard to make a living", as well as Lv Guantun's ideal pursuit of farming and reading inheritance from generation to generation.

According to the "History of Lvguantun Village", as early as the middle of the Qing Dynasty, Lvguantun had a very developed private school education.

In 1909, several schools joined forces to set up the earliest school in Jinghai. Since then, the pace of rural education has never stopped. No matter the war or the turmoil of the times, education has gone through generations.
