On June 17, a number of children in the Jinyuecheng Kindergarten in Jidibao, Lianhu District, Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, suffered from symptoms of suspected food poisoning such as high fever, vomiting, and diarrhea.
On June 19, the Lianhu District CDC immediately went to the kindergarten to carry out investigations. Experts from the provincial and municipal CDCs searched for a total of 135 cases, and extracted and tested the respiratory secretions and feces of the children.
As of June 22, 8 young children were still hospitalized, and the test results have not yet been released, and the cause of the incident is under investigation.
