Public Enemy: Showing China's Road to Drug Control

Recently, after the documentary "Global Enemy" was broadcast on CCTV's Documentary Channel, the social response was strong. The number of on-demand TV shows on CCTV closely followed the prime TV series, and related topics even reached the top of Weibo's hot search list, gaining more than 190 million views. It can be said that it is the most popular anti-drug film and television work in recent years.

The film is a project of the "Document China" communication project of the Central Propaganda Department, directed by the Office of the National Narcotics Control Commission and produced by the Central News Documentary Film Factory (Group). , respectively, from the three perspectives of responding to the new situation of drug crime, cutting off the sea drug trafficking channel, and eliminating drugs as a common international mission, comprehensively demonstrating the theme of drugs being the public enemy of mankind.

This film selects classic cases of Sino-foreign cooperation in combating drug crimes, fully reflecting China's achievements in anti-drug work and China's contribution to the international anti-drug cause.

Drugs erode the human body, cause harm to society, and are a global public enemy.

In the face of drugs, no country can stand alone. Anti-drug work requires the cooperation of all countries. China has demonstrated the demeanor of a major country, actively participated in international affairs, and achieved many achievements in combating drug trafficking and crimes.

From the perspective of documentary filming and production, Public Enemy has made many successful explorations and made some breakthroughs in "Chinese stories and international expressions".

First, the work expresses China's anti-drug strategy from a global perspective.

The harm of drugs has become a global public enemy, and it has become an important task to strengthen cooperation among countries and jointly combat drugs.

China's anti-drug operation in cooperation with the United States, the Philippines, Laos and other countries has been fully demonstrated in the film.

For example, the "Mekong Massacre" that shocked the world, the Wang Jianzhang case of Sino-US cooperation, the Tan Xiaolin case of China-Myanmar cooperation, the Shao Chunchun case of China-Philippine cooperation, and the alternative planting plan of cooperation with Laos, etc., the scenes of the film jumped a lot. , from land to sea, from Southeast Asia to the United States and Europe, the beautiful scenery is full of conspiracy and evil, but the final outcome is the same, which focuses on China's anti-drug strategy and anti-drug road.

Second, use documentary images to show China's road to drug control.

The anti-drug theme itself has a certain mystery and story.

However, due to the uniqueness of their work, anti-drug police officers generally cannot appear in front of the camera and in their daily life, which undoubtedly adds difficulty to the filming work.

The creators of Public Enemy are not afraid of difficulties, and their successful practices in artistic expression and real restoration are worthy of recognition.

The anti-drug cases described in the works are almost all serious crimes, the detection of cases is tortuous, and the criminals are not easy to catch.

The director uses a variety of artistic methods to present it, news clips, surveillance videos, and scene reproduction are superimposed and edited, making the story full of suspense.

The camera shakes, making the audience feel as if they are at the scene of the crime.

The shooting of a large number of mobile devices is smooth and natural, simulating a sense of presence, allowing people to follow the camera to feel the tense atmosphere at that time and the confrontation between the police and the gangsters.

Third, put forward China's anti-drug measures from a constructive perspective.

"Public Enemy of the World" puts forward the Chinese government's proposition to resolutely crack down on drugs and never be soft-hearted.

To jointly fight against drug crimes, transnational economic cooperation is a better solution. Chinese scientists are helping countries in the "Golden Triangle" to monitor local opium cultivation through satellite technology.

The core purpose of promoting cash crops to replace opium cultivation in the "Golden Triangle" area is to improve the living standards of local farmers and reduce the serious harm of "Golden Triangle" drugs to China and neighboring countries.

China has helped Laos to set up a rubber factory. Most of the local young and middle-aged laborers are paid about the same as a year's income of local farmers for one month of work.

The local poppy cultivation industry has shrunk rapidly.

There is also Boshe Village in Shanwei, Guangdong, where food crops were once piled up with drug waste. The shacks that used to be used to process methamphetamine on the beach have also been transformed into contiguous fish ponds and shrimp ponds.

Under the blue sky and blue sun, there is a leisurely and fresh breath of life in the air.

China has cooperated with Australia to carry out "Operation Flame", and by 2018 Australia has almost no more methamphetamine from China.

China has successively helped neighboring countries and key countries along the "Belt and Road" to train more than 3,000 anti-drug police officers, and has also provided anti-drug equipment to Myanmar, Laos, Pakistan and other countries to support these countries in their anti-drug work.

Telling Chinese stories well, spreading Chinese voices well, shaping national spirit, and building national image are the mission of Chinese documentary creation.

The video perspective provided to the world to pay attention to China, perceive China, and discuss China is a concrete manifestation of cultural self-confidence.

The preciousness of the documentary "Global Enemy" is that it does not evade the existence of drug problems in China, but firmly conveys the determination to fight when it shows up.

At the end, the open-ended question is thought-provoking, our enemy is not only drugs, but also human beings themselves.

In this new war without gunpowder smoke, what we have to win is not only drugs, but also human desires.

Strictly implement drug control and ban drugs, this is the commitment of a responsible country to the people, and it is also the mission that each of us must undertake.
