Medical examinations showed a rupture in the British teenager's lung, and doctors said he was lucky as long as he was alive after the serious injury.

At first, doctors suggested that the injured boy would need surgery to remove the air trapped around his lung and heart.

But later, doctors were able to remove the trapped air through a respirator that was put on overnight, without resorting to an operation.

The British teenager regretted inhaling laughing gas, saying that he would not do the act again after he narrowly escaped death.
