The fourth edition of the Arab Fashion Week's activities for ready-to-wear men's wear will be held in the Dubai Design District of TECOM Group, on the 28th of this month, and will last for three days.

The Arab Fashion Council, in partnership with the district, is organizing the unique event at the level of Asia and the Middle East, which contributes to strengthening Dubai's position as a global center for creative industries.

Since its inception, the Arab Fashion Week has presented the works and groups of hundreds of well-known creative designers from more than 50 countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Libya, Iraq, Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt and Palestine, within four events distributed throughout the year, as the Arab Fashion Week for men's fashion is held in January and June As for the Arab Fashion Week for women's fashion, it is held in March and October of each year.

The event also witnessed the expansion of strategic partnerships to include international companies such as Meta, Microsoft and Godaddy.

The event will present an agenda rich with fashion shows and the latest trends in men's ready-to-wear for Spring-Summer 2023, and will include themes of innovation, sustainability and technology signed by international fashion designers, presented in cooperation with the Union of Haute Couture and Fashion, the body that coordinated Paris Fashion Week.

For her part, Executive Director of Dubai Design District, Khadija Al Bastaki, said: “We are proud of our partnership with the Arab Fashion Council, through which we were able to organize special editions of the Arab Fashion Week, which has always received global attention and follow-up by the public and specialists in this sector.”

She added: “In Dubai Design District, we seek to encourage talent in the countries of the region by providing a supportive business environment that contributes to introducing them and enhancing their access to international fashion markets, and we are constantly working to provide inspiring platforms - such as Arab Fashion Week - that harmonize with With our efforts aimed at contributing to the promotion of the creative economy of the Emirate of Dubai, and the upgrading of the creativity and innovation system.”

For his part, Chief Strategy Officer at the Arab Fashion Council, Mohamed Aqra, stressed that “the Arab Fashion Council and Dubai Design District share the vision of contributing to the consolidation of Dubai’s position as a global destination for various fields of creativity, so we seek through Arab Fashion Week, which is a creative forum for regional designers. We aim to shed light on the most prominent trends in the fields of fashion, especially those related to the use of technology and sustainability, and we are keen to provide platforms that enhance opportunities for cooperation between prestigious brands in this field.”

He added: “Our partnerships with our peers - such as the Confederation of Haute Couture and the French organizer of Paris Fashion Week - allow exclusive shows to be hosted on the official agenda of Paris Fashion Week, giving Arab designers a great opportunity to appear and connect with buyers and media from around the world.”

The convening of the Arab Fashion Week for men’s fashion comes in light of positive expectations for the growth of the market value of the men’s fashion industry globally from 533.3 billion dollars (1.9 trillion dirhams) in 2021 to 746.9 billion dollars (2.7 trillion dirhams), by 2027, with a growth rate of 5.92% over the coming years, according to a report by Emark Group.
