"The case is still a mystery" .. the release of the Indian millionaire "the killer of the honeymoon bride"

The family of a bride killed on her honeymoon criticized the decision to release her killer in South Africa, after he spent only 8 years in prison and left many questions unanswered, and the case is still vague and incomprehensible, according to two laws and media outlets.

And the British "Sky News" network reported, on Wednesday, that taxi driver Zola Tongo, 42, was released from a South African prison after receiving an early release ruling.

Annie Deewani, 28, was shot dead in Cape Town in November 2010, while she was on honeymoon with her groom, British millionaire Shereen Deewani. In 2014, Zola was convicted of the murder and sentenced to 18 years in prison.

According to local newspapers, the conditional release of the killer was set on June 6, 2028, meaning that he will not receive a pardon or a reduction of his sentence before that date, but what happened is that the killer obtained an early release.

Annie, who was born in Sweden, had only married her groom for weeks before she was shot dead.

The uncle of the dead woman told the British newspaper, "The Daily Mail", that the family was disappointed by the release of the killer, "who is now free and can walk the streets."

"We believe he has more information about what happened to Annie than he disclosed to the police," he added.

He said that he and the dead woman's father visited the killer in prison last year, where "we gave him the opportunity to tell us what he was hiding and who was protecting him, but he refused."

"The South Africans were considering releasing him last year," he said.

So he spent another 12 months at least.

But this is not enough".

The family confirmed that she will not rest until she knows all the details related to her daughter's death.

It is reported that the murder's husband was acquitted in 2014 of the charge of plotting to kill his wife, and the judge rejected the case against him because it was "full of contradictions."
