The Al Ain Youth Center of the Emirates Heritage Club launched, the day before yesterday, the "Falcons' Maqad" program for its affiliated students, which will continue until July 10 in the Saih Sabra area in Al Ain.

The program provides information about falcons and their breeding, and preparations for the falcon period, or the so-called “tying,” which extends for more than seven months;

It is the period during which the falcon replaces its old feathers, as the bird needs special care during this period and important factors related to the quality and health of food and its protection from diseases, as well as a special atmosphere that must be present in the hatching rooms.

Director of Al Ain Center Khalifa Butti Al Shamsi said, "The sport of falconry is one of the pillars of the Emirati heritage that we inherited from our fathers and grandfathers, and is one of the most important traditional sports in the country," noting that the program aims to raise awareness of the value of falconry, spread the ethics of falconry and introduce The characteristics of falcons, their habits, life stages and types, and the instillation of the correct principles and practices of this legacy in the young.

He pointed out that the program is implemented by a number of trainers specialized in this field to teach students how to care for falcons, the principles of falconry practice, and the tools needed by falcons and falconers.
