• Last Friday, Sasso and L'Allemand opened the Lyon Inversion Festival which hosted Stromae, Orelsan and the Black Eyed Peas.

  • This is the first time that the two artists have come together to present their joint album on stage.

  • An album that speaks to all of France and which once again places Lyon rap among the most listened to.

As a matter of course, the Lyon rappers Sasso and L'Allemand opened the Inversion festival which took place last weekend at the Gerland stadium in Lyon.

A festival that hosted many headliners such as Stromae, Orelsan or the Black Eyed Peas.

For the first time, the two artists presented on stage the album they produced together:

2 Lions,

released last month.

If this opus was awaited by the fans, the duo speaks for an obviousness.

“We were in a period where we saw each other more and more, we had shows and studio sessions together.

Afterwards, it happened naturally, ”says The German.

Originally from La Villette (Part-Dieu) and Vénissieux, Sasso and his accomplice first discovered each other on the networks before meeting during a signing session.

They then chain the featuring.

“We work the same way.

We listen to the instrument.

If she talks to us, we go for it.

If she doesn't talk to us, we don't waste time,” Sasso explains.

Lyon on the French rap map

Like Parisian or Marseille rap, Lyon rap has become a benchmark in the industry, underlines Sasso: "When I was on the move, and people were talking to me about Lyon rap, I saw that people in face were informed.

Their collaboration with Jul or Da Uzi is no stranger to this.

But there is no question of falling into the easy way.

“We could have made an album with only wesh wesh pélo, but that's not the goal.

We don't want to please only the Lyonnais, we want to please everyone, ”supports the German.

Instead, the two singers preferred to tell life in their neighborhoods through 16 catchy titles.

Without losing sight of the initial objective: to make "the whole of France dance", as L'Allemand sings in the title

Minuit Passé.

Despite their new notoriety, they ensure to keep it simple.

Evidenced by the lyrics of the song

I'm not sleepy

: "Millions of listens, but you don't meet me on the coast".
