Elon Musk's "transformed" daughter cuts ties with her father and asks to change her name

The transgender daughter of American billionaire Elon Musk has applied to legally change her name because she "no longer wants to live with her biological father or want to be associated with him in any way, connection or way."

The petition for a name change and a new birth certificate that reflects her new gender identity was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court in Santa Monica, RT and Sky News reported.

Xavier Alexander Musk (the former), who recently turned 18 and of age in California, has asked the court to change her gender recognition from male to female and to register her new name, according to online court documents cited by Sky News on PlainSite.org.

Her new name was revised in the online document, while her mother is Justin Wilson, who divorced Musk in 2008.

There was no other explanation for the row between Musk's daughter and her father, the head of Tesla and SpaceX, who is trying to take over the social networking platform Twitter for $44 billion (£35.8 billion).

Earlier this year, Musk announced his support for the US Republican Party, whose elected representatives support a raft of legislation that would limit the rights of transgender people in states across the country.
