The town of Murinais (Isère) has put up for sale a particular property: its convent.

Notre-Dame-de-la-Croix had been bought by the City ten years earlier when the nuns left.

It is a building of 6,000 m2 on a wooded plot of 2.7 hectares located in the city center, describes

Le Dauphiné Libéré

.

Estimated €800,000

"The main thing is to sell everything at

once," said Mayor Patrice Iserable.

Because the convent has been the subject of an OAP (development and programming guidelines) since 2015 and has been protected since a revision of the local urban plan (PLU).

It is therefore impossible to destroy certain buildings because of their heritage character.

What the mayor would like to change.

Today, the City is responsible for the annual maintenance of the premises, a major investment.

She does not have the means to ensure the necessary rehabilitation.

The convent was estimated at €800,000 by France Domaine, a state service responsible for evaluating the property of local authorities.
