One of the five care units of the Saint-Victor d'Amiens nursing home (Somme) will close its doors for safety this Monday.

Another unit will follow on July 1st.

In question ?

The shortage of caregivers in this establishment.

According to information from France Bleu Picardie, 53 residents will have to be redirected to other services or other structures.

62 closed beds at the Saint-Victor nursing home

According to our colleagues, this transfer will take place in two stages.

Twenty residents will reach the northern hospital of the CHU by ambulance on Monday.

Then another reorientation will be carried out after the closure of the second unit on July 1st.

The three remaining units should be able to accommodate a maximum of fifteen residents.

The management, however, wanted to reassure the families: no return home will be imposed on them.

Once these departures have been recorded, 62 beds will be closed in Saint-Victor, i.e. more than half of the Ehpad.

With these closures, 12 nurses and 28 nursing assistants will be missing, i.e. 40 vacant positions.
