Association for the Defense of Men's Rights in Egypt

The Directorate of Social Affairs in Giza, Egypt, agreed to establish the first association to defend the rights of men in family law.

According to a number of local newspapers.

The lawyer and chairman of the association's board of directors, Ahmed Matar Rizk, said that the message that the association seeks is mainly to defend the entity of the Egyptian family, and to resist the steady increase in divorce cases.

He revealed that the association’s role extends beyond the occurrence of divorce between spouses to the use of the legal rights of the man in the law and resistance to the provisions of imprisonment and abuse, especially if the divorce is the desire and request of the wife, referring to the rights of children in the event of divorce, so that neither party to the relationship ends with children and deprives the other party of Participate in their upbringing.

Rizk added that the current law cares about women's rights at the expense of children and men. It gives divorced women rights over men and does not entail rights in return.

He stated that all that the association seeks is to first preserve the entity of the Egyptian family as the nucleus of society, and secondly to find a real balance in rights and duties in case of separation while preserving the rights of the child and his father.
