The Central Partnership company published on its YouTube channel the first teaser of a feature film about the hero of the Soviet children's cartoon Cheburashka, the plot of which is focused on the adventures of a popular character invented by the writer Eduard Uspensky.

Everyone knows Cheburashka.

Adults, children, mothers, fathers, grandparents and even the Japanese prime minister.

Everyone remembers this cute plush baby from the old cartoon.

But what if Cheburashka actually exists?

What if he is not a plush toy, but quite a real furry animal that lives in an orange grove in a distant land?

— says in the caption to the teaser.

The story in the film will unfold in a small town by the sea.

A fluffy animal living in a distant country in an orange grove will miraculously end up in this seaside town and meet an elderly uncle Gena there, and also get acquainted with a boy who cannot speak and a strange woman who wants to give Cheburashka for her granddaughter's birthday.

Other townspeople will also see the little hero, and they will all be surprised at his appearance.

In the teaser, Sergei Garmash, who plays the role of Gena, is the first to appear before the audience - however, the actor appears in human form.

He lives alone, takes care of the garden and rarely communicates with anyone.

At the end of the video, Uncle Gena holds Cheburashka in his hands and asks a question, the answer to which no one can find: “What are you?”.

The fluffy animal spreads its ears, with which it closed its eyes, and smiles at the old man.

Other characters from the film also appeared in the video.

Among them, for example, is the director of a chocolate factory and trendsetter Rimma, whose appearance refers to the cartoon character Shapoklyak, an old woman.

Her role was played by Elena Yakovleva.

Cheburashka was made using computer technology, and his emotions and voice belong to actress Olga Kuzmina ("Kitchen", "Hotel Eleon", "Grand").

YouTube users have mixed reactions to the video.

Some write that they are looking forward to the release of the film and hope that it will be interesting.

“It remains only to wish good luck to Cheburashka.

I hope the same thing doesn't happen to him as to Sonic.

I liked it, if anything, ”says one of the comments.

“And I liked the teaser)) Boy Timur, 34 years old,” writes another user.

“Hmm, it looks like something interesting is planned, for a long time we haven’t released decent children’s films, “The Last Hero” is still for teenagers.

I hope "Cheburashka" will be a good film.

I already like the cast, and Cheburashka himself looks cute, I will definitely watch, I hope a 0+ rating is expected, ”said another viewer.

However, among the users of the site there are those who were disappointed with the teaser.

So, many were upset that Gena in the film would be a man, not a crocodile.

“Gen also needed a computer and a crocodile,” reads one of the comments.

Among other things, many viewers are waiting for the tape to get a better look at the on-screen Shapoklyak, find out how her attachment to the rat will be realized, and also understand how the main character differs from the original.

The project was directed by Dmitry Dyachenko, who worked on such popular films as "What Men Talk About", "Radio Day", "The Last Hero" and "Kitchen".

As the director told the Kino Mail portal, the fluffy hero will be slightly different in character from the Soviet prototype.

“He is more modern, energetic, lively.

Perhaps even more fun, ”says the director.

The film also starred Polina Maksimova, Fyodor Dobronravov, Sergey Lavygin, Dmitry Lysenkov, Ilya Kondratenko and others.

Screenwriters - Vitaly Shlyappo, Vasily Kutsenko, Vyacheslav Zub and Anatoly Molchanov.

All of them collaborated in the framework of the Kitchen project.

The film was produced by the Soyuzmultfilm studio in partnership with Yellow, Black and White (YBW), Russia 1 and STS TV channels, and the START video service.

For filming, Soyuzmultfilm in 2019 received from the Uspensky family the right to the literary basis of the history of Cheburashka.

The film was filmed in colorful places in Sochi, such as the Arboretum park, the Ordzhonikidze sanatorium and the sea embankment, as well as in the Moscow region.

The premiere of "Cheburashka" in cinemas will take place on January 1, 2023.
