The notified cases, according to the information collected by the Ministry of Health, come from

13 autonomous communities

(Madrid 356, Catalonia 51, Andalusia 29, Canary Islands 26, Basque Country 9, Valencian Community 7, Balearic Islands 5, Aragon 4, Galicia 3, Castilla and La Mancha 3, Extremadura 2, Murcia 1 and Navarra 1).

, five women and in one of them this information is not recorded; the age ranges between 18 and 67 years, with a median age of 36 years. The date of onset of symptoms is available in 408 cases. Of these, the first reported case began symptoms on April 26 and the last on June 13. Most presented fever, asthenia, rash and lymphadenopathy throughout their clinical process, "says Health.

11 affected have required hospitalization and none of the total has died

Regarding the transmission mechanism, Renave maintains that the "most likely in 112 of the 116 cases for which information is available was intimate and prolonged contact during sexual intercourse."

As reported by EL MUNDO, the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, stated last Wednesday that Spain will receive at the end of this month the first 5,000 vaccines against monkeypox from a centralized purchase that will be made by the Preparation and EU Health Emergency Response (HERA).

A total of 1,474 confirmed cases of monkeypox have been reported in the

, 524 of them in the United Kingdom, 305 in Germany, 241 in Portugal, 125 in France, 95 in the Netherlands, 50 in Italy, 36 in in Belgium, 20 in Switzerland, 15 in Ireland, 11 in Austria, 9 in Sweden, 7 in Slovenia, 7 in Denmark, 6 in the Czech Republic, 5 in Finland, 3 in Hungary, 3 in Iceland, 2 in Norway, 2 in Latvia, 2 in Malta, 2 in Greece, 2 in Romania, 1 in Poland and 1 in Luxembourg.

Most are young men with a history of relationships in a risky sexual context.
