To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Okinawa's return to the mainland, Akishino-no-miya and his wife visited a special exhibition at the Tokyo National Museum, which collects cultural assets related to the former Ryukyu Kingdom.

This special exhibition "Ryukyu" is being held by NHK and others, and Mr. and Mrs. Akishino visited the venue of the Tokyo National Museum in Ueno, Tokyo on the afternoon of the 17th.



Among them, Akishino-no-miya told the curator that "I like to see bird-and-flower paintings" at the exhibition of "Phoenix Peony Figure" by Son Billion, a Chinese painter in the Qing dynasty who taught a painter who studied abroad from Ryukyu. It means that you have read it enthusiastically.

Also, after seeing the exhibition, Noriko said, "I don't have a chance to see it all together, so it's difficult to collect so many."



Their Majesties the Emperor and Empress and the Emperor and Mrs. Emeritus are also visiting this special exhibition.



The special exhibition "Ryukyu" is open until the 26th of this month.
