NASA reveals the secret of the "blanket" that was found on Mars!

NASA's Perseverance rover surprised scientists with a strange image of a shiny object caught between two rocks, captured on the surface of Mars.

And speculation was raised about the nature of this strange object, which appeared to be metallic, that the NASA team concluded that it was a piece of debris that the rover got rid of during its landing on Mars in February 2021.

And “NASA” published a tweet on the account dedicated to the “Perseverance” spacecraft, saying: “We discovered something unexpected, it is a thermal blanket, left from the time I landed on the Red Planet.”

The space agency added: "This shiny piece of tin is part of a thermal blanket used to control temperatures. The piece appeared about two kilometers from my landing point, possibly by wind."

The image raised concerns about the impact of negative space exploration programs on the environment of Mars and the Moon, according to the British newspaper, The Guardian.

In response to these concerns, Professor Andrew Coates, a scientist at the University of California Space Science Laboratory, said: "Everything is sterilized before moving to Mars, and the possibility of some parts of spacecraft remaining due to the influence of space radiation and the harsh surface environment of the planet."

Coates added, according to (Sky News Arabia), "It is very difficult to land on Mars because of the thin atmosphere, so devices are used to regulate this process, such as parachutes and thermal blankets, all of which may fly from the landing site and eventually crash, but the pollution rate remains very low." .
