The mercury will continue to panic before the peak expected for Saturday
We will still have to wait before seeing the thermometer go down again.
With temperatures between 30 and 35°C over the entire southern half of the country, the heat wave progressed on Wednesday, but the worst is yet to come with mercury which should still panic by crossing the 40°C mark locally Friday.
Sign of this worsening, Météo-France has activated the orange "heat wave" alert for 23 departments of a large south-west quarter, from Anjou to the Pyrenees, not to mention a heat island in Drôme / Ardèche.
And, according to Tristan Ammun, a forecaster from the public establishment: "Saturday promises to be the peak of the heat wave, with 35 to 39°C fairly generalized over a good part of the territory, from the Garonne to to the northeast via the Rhône valley, the Paris region, the Center Val-de-Loire”.

She nevertheless invited victims of sexual violence to file a complaint.
“It is essential that on these subjects the voice of women (…) be heard.
You understand that I cannot comment on the basis of anonymous testimonies, ”she told the press on the Villers-Bocage market, in the 6th district of Calvados, where she is campaigning for the legislative elections.
