Since Météo-France began to raise temperatures in 1947, we have rarely seen such a hot first half of June in the south of France.

According to Météo-France, “in nearly half of the departments of south-eastern France, this fortnight is the warmest ever observed, ahead of that of 2003: Bouches-du-Rhône, Corse du Sud, Gard, Hérault, Pyrénées -Orientales and Var”.

In detail, in Corsica, the fortnight we have just experienced is the hottest ever observed since the start of statistics, with 4°C more than the normal values calculated from 1981 to 2010, ahead of 3.9° C from more than 2003.

The first half of June 2022 will also remain as the second hottest ever observed in Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur (3.8°C warmer than normal, against 4.1°C warmer in 2003), and in Languedoc -Roussillon (3.8°C more than normal, against 4°C more in 2003), indicates Météo-France.
