After the success of the first season of the Korean series, which became the most watched of all time on Netflix, it seemed obvious that the streaming service would continue its momentum.

Last January, Ted Sarandos, the boss of the platform, announced that “the

universe has only just begun”.

Five months later, so it's confirmed.

“It took 12 years to bring the first season of

to life last year.

But it took 12 days for

to become the most popular series of all time.

There has been so much demand, love and attention for a season 2. So I feel like I have no choice but to do a season 2,” said Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator of the program on the Instagram account of the streaming service.

“Gi-hun is coming back.

The Front Man returns.

Season 2 is coming.

The man in the suit with the ddakji could be back,” the designer clarified.

Another detail that matters to

fans : we should meet Cheol-su, the “boyfriend”, as described by Hwang Dong-hyuk, from Young-Hee.

The animatronic doll, seen in the show's first deadly "game," quickly became iconic, used throughout Netflix promos.

No release date has yet been announced, but it's hard to imagine Netflix, in need of subscribers, going without the buzz of a new season of its most popular series for very long.
