China News Service, Hong Kong, June 11. The "Joint Celebration of Return to Show Care" plan coordinated by the Home Affairs Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government held a launching ceremony in Wong Tai Sin District on June 11.

The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, presided over the launching ceremony of the project, and then visited disadvantaged families in the district to kick off the project.

  It is reported that the project is one of the main celebration activities for the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The 18 District Offices of District Offices, together with NGOs and local groups in the districts, will carry out various forms of caring activities, including visits to 300,000 grassroots families, Arrange about 80,000 grassroots citizens to participate in the territory-wide celebration activities, and arrange about 120,000 people from disadvantaged groups to participate in the regional celebration activities to share the joy of the festival.

  At the launching ceremony, Carrie Lam said that this year marks the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland. It is a very meaningful and memorable day for the country, the SAR and Hong Kong citizens.

The SAR Government has been injecting community care into the celebration activities to achieve the goal of celebrating the whole world.

She thanked the Hong Kong Jockey Club for the sponsorship program, and thanked the volunteers from NGOs and regional organizations who fully supported and participated in the event to send warmth to the underprivileged and promote social solidarity, mutual assistance, care and harmony.

  After the kick-off ceremony, Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, accompanied by the Acting Secretary for Home Affairs of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Mr. Chan Chik-chi, the Chairman of the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Mr. Chan Nam-lok, and Wong Tai Sin's Home Affairs Commissioner, Mr. Wong Chi-wah, started a home visit activity. Single-parent families and ethnic minority families, learn about their daily life and needs, and distribute gift packs to them to share the joy of the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland.

Director of Home Affairs Zhang Zhao Kaiyu and Chief Executive Officer of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Ying Jiabai also joined a team of volunteers after the kick-off ceremony to visit grassroots families in the district and send them warmth.

  In the next two weeks, the secretaries of the Hong Kong SAR Government will also visit the 18 districts together with participating NGOs and local groups to visit grassroots families and distribute gift packs to express the wishes of the SAR Government.
