On the 10th, in Yongan Village, Dongye Town, Wutai County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, the former residence of Xu Xiangqian is very popular with tourists.
"The work of creating a national AAAA-level tourist attraction has been carried out, and the red cultural resources have been excavated, sorted out and utilized well, and new momentum has been injected into the local comprehensive promotion of rural revitalization." Wutai County is located in the northeastern part of Shanxi Province, adjacent to Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.
In recent years, the county has continuously revitalized red cultural resources, developed the tourism industry through the "red +" model, helped farmers with travel, and promoted rural revitalization.
In the center of the front yard is a 2.1-meter-high bronze bust of Marshal Xu Xiangqian.

Marshal Xu Xiangqian, who had great military exploits, was the founding father of the People's Republic of China and the only northerner among the ten marshals.
In 1990, after the death of Marshal Xu Xiangqian, the local government repaired his former residence according to its original appearance. It was officially opened to the public in 1992, and it is a national key cultural relics protection unit.
Liu Guoxiang introduced that the former residence of Xu Xiangqian was built in the Jiaqing and Daoguang years of the Qing Dynasty. It is a typical courtyard building in northern Shanxi.
After the opening, units and tourists came to visit and study in an endless stream.
The former residence of Xu Xiangqian has been awarded the National Patriotism Education Demonstration Base, the National Defense Education Demonstration Base, the National AAA-level Tourist Scenic Spot, and the National Red Tourism Classic Scenic Spot.
Entering the former residence of Xu Xiangqian, there is a 2.1-meter-high bronze bust of Marshal Xu Xiangqian in the middle of the front yard, and a shadow wall is built behind it, which is engraved with the words "Meritorious merits go down in history, and role models show future generations".
The backyard is a typical northern Shanxi courtyard with a simple and elegant architectural style, consisting of the main room and the east and west wing rooms.
There are seven exhibition rooms in the former residence, displaying the life and deeds of Marshal Xu Xiangqian and the inscriptions of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries Li Xiannian and Chen Yun for Marshal Xu Xiangqian.
The showroom is divided into three parts: war, life, and state affairs, displaying some precious photos and real objects of Marshal Xu Xiangqian's battle, life and work during his lifetime.
In order to revitalize the red cultural resources, in 2011, the Memorial Hall of Marshal Xu Xiangqian, covering an area of about 58,000 square meters on the northwest side of Yongan Village, was officially opened.
The memorial hall consists of three parts: the square, the viewing platform and the main exhibition hall.
A large number of historical photos, cultural relics, scene paintings, sculptures, etc. are displayed in the museum, creating a red scenic spot with local regional characteristics and modern high-tech highlights.
Among the exhibits is a wool vest that is particularly eye-catching. It was woven by Xu Xiangqian during the Anti-Japanese War and wore it for 30 years.
Liu Guoxiang said that Xu Shuai, who is in a high position, has always maintained a fine style of hard work and simplicity, and has always been consistent with the people in material and spiritual life.
"As a red education base, the former residence of Marshal Xu Xiangqian and the Memorial Hall will welcome hundreds of thousands of tourists who come to visit and study every year." Liu Guoxiang said that in 2021, the center will organize more than 2,000 activities such as reviewing the oath of joining the party, and receive 300,000 party members. There are more than 200,000 individual passengers, which drive the development of the tourism industry in the village.
Liu Guoxiang introduced that "one-day tour" and "two-day tour" will be launched thereafter to integrate the multicultural resources of Yong'an Village and create a boutique tourist area of "one heart, two rings and three districts".
After the completion of the project, resources will be changed into assets, funds will be changed into share capital, and farmers will be changed into shareholders, which can increase the income of the village collective economy by 8 million yuan.
In addition, relying on the former residence of Marshal Xu Xiangqian and the Memorial Hall, Wutai County has continuously excavated historical and cultural resources such as the Memorial Garden of Marshal Xu Xiangqian's Inscription, Xu's Ancestral Hall, the Mausoleum of Xu Jiyu, the Prime Minister's Yamen Minister, the site of the ancient Great Wall of the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, and the Farming Culture and Folk Museum to attract more tourists. Come here for sightseeing, drive local industries, and inject a steady stream of impetus into rural revitalization.
