As usual,

everything from entrepreneurs, writers, sports profiles, artists to researchers come together in the summer buffet that was presented.

Retired ski queen Charlotte Kalla, who actually makes her debut as a summer host, gets crowded with Sweden's best dressed man, Fast cash star Alexander Abdallah.

In addition to the profiles, there are some topics that recur, including the environmental issue, faith and outlook on life and then the war in Ukraine - we get to hear Pussy Riot member Lusine Djanan who now lives in Sweden.

First out is the host Pär Lernström - who says he will tell about his father's addiction and how it affected him as a child.

In other words, the type of

history that we have increasingly learned to associate with Summer in P1 and which over the years has become part of the general media cycle, from television programs such as My Truth to Malou.

Those of this year's summer talkers who have not been selected after writing a popular and personal book - may well be allowed to write it after the summer.

Other strong personal stories that already fit perfectly in the summerized media world: Emma Schols, who saved her six children from burning up, and the listeners' summer host Bengt Einar “Sotarn” Johansson, who was almost lobotomized as a child.

The editorial staff seems to

have worked

t

to bring about a better diversity in recent years and this can be seen in this summer's edition.

They also seem to have noted the criticism of the programme's Stockholm fixation, if only by writing Upplands Väsby and Täby in the presentation of the summer hosts who live on the outskirts of Greater Stockholm.

That politicians are absent

due to election year is of course understandable.

But I still miss two things.

Partly a spice measure of international stardom - did the Abbots say no?

Partly something burning that has that real news pulse in advance, such as when Sara Danius spoke from within the crisis in the Swedish Academy or when Anders Tegnell spoke in the summer in the middle of the Corona pandemic.

Could one possibly have wished for a gangster rapper - who described what all politicians talk about from the inside?

Summer in P1 broke listener records last year, and no matter how much audiobooks, podcasts and new cool audio dramas are invested in in the media world right now, that summer will be the most played on Swedes' radios and smartphones this summer as well.

You still want to hear E-Type tell "about a guy named Martin."
